Strategic Planning

Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) Update

Staff and the Strategic Planning Committee have begun in-depth discussions and preparation of the next Urban Water Management Plan (Plan). Assisting consultant firms are Zanjero and Tully & Young. Required by the State, the Plan must be submitted to Department of Water Resources every five years to detail anticipated community water needs and supply. Filing this Plan also keeps the District eligible for available State funding opportunities.

Future shortfalls are expected to be minimal now that the Water Supply Agreement with the City is in place, yet the District must plan for these and consider unforeseen events. Members of the public who are interested in water supply planning are welcome to participate in any upcoming meetings:

GOOD PLANNING is only part of the equation:

ONGOING CONSERVATION is essential to meeting our budgeted usage and State requirements.
