RAINY DAYS CONTINUE
Today is Groundhog day, and Punxsutawney Phil saw no shadow when poking a nose out this morning, perhaps indicating an early spring? While the critter's accuracy rate is not great, it is bound to feel springlike around here with the hillsides already turning green from winter rainfall.
February is off to a very wet start, continuing January's trend with
no outdoor watering needed, likely through the end of the month.
Six (or more) inches of rainfall is expected tomorrow through Tuesday, so please take necessary precautions and keep an eye on the weather. Here's a forecast summary from National Weather Service and some helpful resource links below:

The Groundwater Sustainability Plan adopted in May, 2023, identifies stakeholder incentive programs as a sustainability project to raise community awareness about the importance of groundwater. The rebate program aims to encourage public involvement in the stewardship of the Montecito Groundwater Basin.
Rebate amounts up to $3,000 per property are available for new and conversion projects that promote groundwater infiltration to the Montecito Groundwater Basin. Examples include bioswales, rain gardens, and replacing impervious surfaces with permeable solutions such as landscaping.
