Montecito Water District receives GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award
For the third consecutive year, Montecito Water District has received a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). In October the District was recognized for its Annual Budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024-25 beginning July 1, 2024.
GFOA established the Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards Program to encourage and assist state and local governments in preparing budget documents of the very highest quality that reflect both the guidelines established by the National Advisory Council on State and Local Budgeting and the GFOA's best practices on budgeting. The Award recognizes individual governments that succeed in achieving that goal. To earn recognition, budget documents must meet program criteria and excel as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communication tool.
Approximately 1,800 governments, including states, cities, counties, special districts, school districts, and more have been recognized for transparency in budgeting. Olivia Rojas, the District’s Business Manager, lead the budget development process for Fiscal Year 2024-25 and played a pivotal role in the District’s receipt of this notable award.
Montecito Water District’s mission is to provide an adequate and reliable supply of high quality water to the residents of Montecito and Summerland, at the most reasonable cost.
